Privacy Policy
Updated October 18, 2026
Go To Travel ("we", "us") runs gototravelapp.com and the Go To Travel iPhone app. This policy covers the website: the waitlist, the traveler quiz, our emails, the contact form and the Privacy Center. The app shows its own privacy details in the App Store and in the app.
What we collect
- Your email address, when you join the waitlist, ask for a free kit or tips, or contact us.
- Quiz answers, if you take the traveler quiz: who you travel with, your travel style and pace, what you love, and your traveler type.
- Kids' answers entered by a parent, if you pick Family: an age range, what your kids are into and food needs. You enter these yourself; we don't ask for kids' names on the website. Food needs such as nut-free or gluten-free can say something about health, so we keep them only because you chose to tell us, use them only to suggest places to eat and tailor your kit, never for ads, and you can delete them anytime in the Privacy Center. The site is not directed at children, and we don't knowingly collect information from children under 13.
- Your dream board: the postcards you heart on the home page.
- Your app look, if you pick one after signing up: dark or light.
- Referral info: your personal invite code, the code you arrived with (if any), and how many friends joined with your link.
- Proof of consent: when you signed up, which version of our sign-up wording you saw, and your country (from your connection, not your exact location).
- Contact messages: your name, email and message when you use the contact form.
- Technical info: a one-way hash of your IP address (never the address itself), your browser type, and the campaign link you arrived from (UTM tags), used to stop spam and see which channels work.
How we use it
- To send the emails you asked for: your welcome email, the kit, Friday trip ideas, launch news and beta invites.
- To set up the app for you, so your quiz answers, kids' answers, dream board and app look are waiting when you sign in with the same email.
- To run the waitlist, including "skip the line" invites.
- To reply to you.
- To keep the site working, stop spam, and understand which pages and campaigns work.
Why we're allowed to use it (EU and UK)
- Your consent for marketing email (the welcome email, your kit, Friday ideas and launch news), for optional cookies and pixels, and, as explicit consent, for kids' food needs. You can withdraw it anytime: unsubscribe, change cookie settings, or delete those answers in the Privacy Center.
- Doing what you asked for running your waitlist spot, sending the kit you requested and answering your messages.
- Our legitimate interests for keeping the site secure, stopping spam and understanding which pages work. You can object anytime by emailing us.
Where your data is stored
Our providers store and process data in the United States. When data comes from the EU, the EEA, the UK or Switzerland, we rely on their data processing terms, which include the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses (and the UK addendum).
Email and unsubscribing
Every marketing email ends with an Unsubscribe button, a link to your email preferences and our postal address, and mail apps can unsubscribe you in one click. Unsubscribing takes effect right away. We'll still send emails you need, like sign-in links, crew invites and trip changes you ask for. In the US and most other places we use single opt-in. In the EU, the EEA, the UK and Switzerland we ask you to confirm first: you're on the list only after you tap the link in our confirmation email, and we send nothing else until then. Our postal address: Ward and Taylor LLC, 2710 Centerville Rd #200, Wilmington, DE 19808.
Cookies, pixels and browser storage
On your first visit we ask before using anything that isn't essential. You can change your choice anytime with "Cookie settings" at the bottom of every page or in the Privacy Center.
| Kind | What | When |
|---|---|---|
| Essential | Small items in your browser's storage: your cookie choices, quiz progress, dream board, your dark or light pick, whether you signed up (with your invite link and place in line), an invite code you arrived with (30 days), passport stamps, and when you last closed a pop-up (14 days). | Always |
| Analytics | None installed today | Only if you turn on Analytics |
| Ads | None installed today. If we add the TikTok Pixel or Meta Pixel to measure our ads, they load only with your OK. | Only if you turn on Ads and haven't opted out of selling or sharing |
We honor Global Privacy Control: if your browser sends it, we treat you as opted out of ads cookies and of selling or sharing.
Selling and sharing (California and similar laws)
We don't sell your personal data for money. If you turn on Ads cookies, the TikTok and Meta pixels may count as "sharing" for cross-context behavioral advertising under California law. You can opt out anytime with Do not sell or share my personal information or with Global Privacy Control.
Who we share it with
- Supabase stores your signup and messages.
- Resend sends our emails.
- Vercel hosts the website.
- Google Fonts serves the typefaces, so your browser requests them from Google.
- TikTok and Meta, only if you turn on Ads cookies.
- AI assistants you connect. In the app you can connect an assistant such as Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini or Meta Muse. Trip data goes only to the assistants you connect, and you can disconnect them anytime.
Service providers process data for us under contract. We'd also share data if the law requires it.
Your choices and rights
In the Privacy Center you can change email preferences, unsubscribe from everything, download your data, and delete it. Deleting takes two steps: we email you a confirmation link, and nothing is deleted until you click it. Your app account is deleted in the app under Profile.
Depending on where you live (for example the EU, the UK or California) you may also have rights to access, correct, port or delete your data, to object or restrict processing, and to complain to your data protection authority. We won't treat you differently for using them. Email us at the address below for anything the Privacy Center doesn't cover.
How long we keep it
- Waitlist signups: until you delete them, or until we close the waitlist and you haven't created an app account.
- Contact messages: as long as we need them to help you, and no longer than 2 years.
- Browser storage: on your device until you clear it.
Changes
If we change this policy in a way that matters, we'll update the date above and tell subscribers by email.
